Lingering...
Forever Gone

The name I despise.
To say it would mean that once again, I wonder -
Wonder why, where, and whom he's with.
Not me.
It's so easy to wonder, but hard to let go.
Innocent he was;
Pure, Clean.
When whispering sweet nothings in your ear,
you seem to drift away to the place only lovers know.
I miss the voice;
My name and the way it was said -
The laughter,
Joys of intimacy,
Enduring moments of togetherness,
Finished love -
Fading forever -
Gone.
To say it would mean that once again, I wonder -
Wonder why, where, and whom he's with.
Not me.
It's so easy to wonder, but hard to let go.
Innocent he was;
Pure, Clean.
When whispering sweet nothings in your ear,
you seem to drift away to the place only lovers know.
I miss the voice;
My name and the way it was said -
The laughter,
Joys of intimacy,
Enduring moments of togetherness,
Finished love -
Fading forever -
Gone.

As I was listening to the recording of Songs of Sailor and Sea, a great piece of music by Robert W. Smith, there is a part near the middle, where there is a F Horn/Oboe solo, and it was just beautiful. In my head it created this scenario, where a couple is about to go on their separate ways. They share their last kiss, last hug, and the last lingering touch with the other person. And as the sun sets behind them, they take their last look at each other. Finally turned they heads away, their hands slowly parted, and they went on their separate ways, yet a part of them will always be with the other person for the rest of eternity.
